About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced GIS Technical Manager to lead the GIS team and play a key role in developing and implementing geospatial strategies in Saudi Arabia. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the GIS operations, including data acquisition, analysis, visualization, application development, and project supervision. You will also be instrumental in developing technical proposals and solutions for the current and potential clients in the region.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement the organization’s GIS strategy and roadmap for the Saudi Arabian market.
* Manage and oversee all aspects of GIS operations in Saudi Arabia, including data acquisition, analysis, visualization, application development, and project supervision.
* Lead and mentor a team of GIS analysts and developers based in Saudi Arabia.
* Provide technical support to GIS users in Saudi Arabia and ensure that they have the resources and training they need to be successful.
* Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in Saudi Arabia, including internal and external partners.
* Supervise GIS projects in Saudi Arabia, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
* Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables for projects in Saudi Arabia.
* Develop technical proposals and solutions for current and potential clients in Saudi Arabia, ensuring they meet client needs and align with the organization’s capabilities.
* Stay abreast of the latest GIS technologies and trends in the Saudi Arabian market and identify opportunities to leverage them to improve the organization’s efficiency and effectiveness in the region.
* Prepare and present reports and recommendations to senior management on GIS operations in Saudi Arabia.
* Manage the GIS budget and resources for projects in Saudi Arabia.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field.
* Master’s degree preferred
* 10+ years of experience in a GIS management role, preferably in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East region.
* Proven experience in leading and managing GIS teams in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East.
* Strong technical skills in all aspects of GIS, including data acquisition, analysis, visualization, application development, and project supervision.
* Experience with a variety of GIS software and hardware platforms commonly used in Saudi Arabia.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills in both English and Arabic.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
* Familiarity with the Saudi Arabian business culture and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with cloud-based GIS platforms.
* Experience with Agile development methodologies.
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
